Garage door trim for MCW

Prompt

Through a strange story of chance, I was introduced to Mission Community Woodshop as it was being envisioned. There was so much work to do to transform the space (previously, a Scuderia) into a functional woodshop and it was amazing to see dozens of people jump in to help. I took on a small project to beautify the entrance, covering particle board with reclaimed oak floorboards in preparation for a new glass garage door that would let light flood into the space during the day.

The tongue and groove oak floorboards, in various states and cut to various lengths

Build

Makeshift flip-stops to bulk cut boards to a variety of different lengths

Result

Not bad! I appreciated this simple project with relatively large tolerances. Reclaimed material quells my tendency to behave as a perfectionist, though I did go the extra mile to match boards across two access panels (try to spot them).
